Administrator

How can i change the security settings for the administrator? I keep getting acces denied although i am logged on as an administrator

I am running VISTA Home Premium and have encountered the following: I have installed a couple of different programs and have later decided to remove them from Control-Panel "add/remove programs", Even though I am the administrator (no one else uses this computer), I get a pop up which tells me they cannot be removed, "See your system administrator" - I AM THE SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR! Any help would be appreciated.

Is this where Right Mouse Click on the command or menu item and selecting Run as Administrator does its thing?

There should be a screen somewhere that asks you to sign in as the Administer, so try doing that before you do anything else...it might help.

I did that and it made no difference. Thanks

Well I'll be...I tried to change one of the settings in Vista and it denied me access saying that only the Admin can make changes...I am the Administrator...Anyway of correcting this, so I can have full control of adjusting my settings?

I had the same probem and this helped me:
Vista
Administrator account: accessing
right click on "computer" and click on manage. click on "local users and groups", click on "users", click on "administrator" and right click, click on properties. toggle the box marked "account is disabled". this should clear this box. now close all windows. in control panel click on "administrative tools", now click on "local security policy". Local Policies/Security Options in :interactive logon:" enable "Do not display last last user name"
In Vista the Administrator account is the only one really that I have been able to tell that really has full access. the get to some places you just have to run apps as Administrator. But at least you will be able to get into the account when you need to.
